Meet the Leadership Team
It takes a community to run a community as vibrant as Montessori 101, including admins and numerous passionate moderators. The admin team strives to create the guidelines and offer the kind of mentorship that the community needs in order to sustain a successful learning environment.
From creating and orchestrating community events such as online conferences and virtual Montessori Q&A sessions to helping in the day-to-day functioning of the group, your admins have their whole hearts in the mission behind Montessori 101.
Aubrey Hargis, Founder and Admin
Aubrey is a life-long Montessorian who believes that every child has a hidden potential just waiting to be revealed. She is an experienced Montessori guide with certifications in a variety of ages, including Lower Elementary (6-9) through the American Montessori Society. She’s also the author of two best selling books and hosts a Montessori Parenting podcast.
As the creator and an Admin of Montessori 101, she is focused on helping parents navigate those crucial early years with compassionate discipline techniques.

Nicole Kavanaugh, Admin
Nicole believes that every family can incorporate Montessori into their lives. She holds a B.A. in History and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and is trained in level 1 of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, leading in the atrium for 5 years. She has been studying Montessori philosophy since she realized it was the key to a more peaceful way of life with her first child.
As an Admin of Montessori 101, Nicole strives to help parents incorporate Montessori at home, no matter where they are in their Montessori journey.

Amy Dorsch, Admin
Amy is focused on helping all parents give their children the gift of a Montessori childhood - a gift for life. She has both a degree in Early Childhood / Elementary education and a primary (3-6) certification through the Association Montessori International.
Amy’s goal online through Montessori 101 is to inspire others to take the next step in their own Montessori education as a classroom guide by finding the right teacher education program.
