Child of the Redwoods Small Group License Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
These Terms of Service govern the purchase and use of a Child of the Redwoods Small Group License offered by Child of the Redwoods, LLC, owned by Aubrey Hargis and David Hargis.
The Small Group License is intended for qualifying micro schools, homeschool co ops, preschools, community learning programs, and other small educational organizations serving children from more than one household.
By purchasing a Small Group License, the purchaser agrees to these terms on behalf of the licensed program or organization.
Small Group License Terms
A Small Group License provides the licensed program with permission to use included Child of the Redwoods curriculum materials for a period of 12 months beginning on the date of enrollment.
The license applies only to the program identified at enrollment and only to the number of students permitted by the license tier purchased.
Small Group Licenses are currently offered for:
Up to 5 students
Up to 10 students
Up to 15 students
Up to 20 students
Enrollment above the maximum number of students permitted by the purchased license requires an upgrade to the appropriate license tier or another written arrangement with Child of the Redwoods.
The Small Group License is an annual institutional-use license. It is not a perpetual purchase of institutional rights to the curriculum.
Included Program Access
During the active license term, the licensed program receives access to the curriculum and teaching resources included with the Small Group License. These may include:
The Child of the Redwoods Theme Library
New themes released during the active license term
Theme welcome and instructional video replays
Lesson Explorer
Foundational Curriculum materials
Teaching Guides
Interactive Scope and Sequence tools
Printable Scope and Sequence materials
Foundations of Montessori self paced courses
Lesson Materials Library
Other curriculum resources designated as part of the Small Group License
Montessori Material Demonstration Videos, when available for Small Group License accounts
Child of the Redwoods may update, reorganize, replace, or discontinue individual resources or platform features during the license term.
The Small Group License is a fully digital program. No physical Montessori materials, books, printed curriculum, manipulatives, or other physical products are included.
Educator Accounts
Each Small Group License includes up to two named educator accounts.
Educator accounts must be assigned to individual staff members, instructors, administrators, or other authorized representatives of the licensed program. Login credentials may not be shared between individuals or provided to people outside the licensed organization.
Educator accounts may be reassigned when staffing changes. The licensed program is responsible for notifying Child of the Redwoods when account access should be transferred or revoked.
The inclusion of educator accounts does not grant those individuals personal or household licenses to Child of the Redwoods materials. Access is provided solely for work performed on behalf of the licensed program during the active license term.
Additional educator access may be made available at the discretion of Child of the Redwoods.
Permitted Classroom Use
Unlike a standard Child of the Redwoods household membership, a Small Group License includes limited institutional reproduction and classroom-use rights.
During the active license term, authorized educators may:
Use included curriculum materials to teach students enrolled in the licensed program
Print included materials in quantities reasonably necessary for those licensed students
Display included materials for instructional purposes within the licensed program
Save working copies of digital materials for use by authorized educators within the licensed program
Adapt the implementation of lessons to meet the needs of the students being taught
These rights apply only to the number of students covered by the active Small Group License.
The license does not transfer ownership of Child of the Redwoods intellectual property to the purchaser.
Prohibited Use and Distribution
Small Group License materials may not be:
Sold, sublicensed, or redistributed
Shared with another school, co op, organization, or educational program
Distributed to families for independent use outside the licensed program
Uploaded to public websites, shared drives, social media groups, resource libraries, or other platforms accessible to unauthorized users
Used to create or sell derivative curriculum products
Shared by educators for their personal use outside their work with the licensed program
Used with more students than permitted by the purchased license tier
Families participating in a licensed co op, school, or program do not receive individual household rights to the Child of the Redwoods curriculum unless they separately purchase an eligible household membership.
Use After License Expiration
The licensed program's permission to use Child of the Redwoods materials for instruction ends when the Small Group License expires or is terminated.
To continue using Child of the Redwoods curriculum with students after the expiration date, the program must renew its Small Group License.
If the license is not renewed, the program must:
Stop using Child of the Redwoods materials for instruction
Stop printing, copying, displaying, or distributing licensed curriculum materials
Delete locally stored curriculum files and working digital copies that are no longer authorized for use
Remove curriculum materials from shared staff drives or other program-accessible storage systems
Copies that must reasonably be retained for legitimate administrative, legal, or record keeping purposes may be retained, but they may not be used for continued instruction without an active license.
The fact that a file or printed resource was downloaded or printed during an active license term does not grant perpetual institutional-use rights to that material.
Curriculum Updates and New Content
During an active license term, the licensed program may receive access to new themes, curriculum updates, revised materials, and other resources added to the Small Group License.
Child of the Redwoods determines which resources are included with the Small Group License and reserves the right to update the structure, organization, presentation, or delivery of those resources.
Access to future products, services, courses, applications, or features is not implied unless those resources are specifically designated as part of the Small Group License.
Kickoff Session
Each Small Group License includes one private kickoff or curriculum orientation session during the license term.
The purpose of this session is to help the licensed program understand the structure and use of the Child of the Redwoods curriculum and included resources.
The kickoff session is not an ongoing consulting arrangement and does not include continuing classroom management consulting, staff training, accreditation assistance, regulatory advice, individualized student assessment, or unlimited pedagogical support.
Failure to schedule or attend the included kickoff session does not entitle the purchaser to a refund or extension of the license term.
Services Not Included
The Small Group License is primarily a curriculum license and does not include all benefits available through Child of the Redwoods household memberships.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, the Small Group License does not include:
The Child of the Redwoods homeschool community

Membership Site Access
Small Group License materials are distributed through Child of the Redwoods digital platforms.
Authorized educators must create or be assigned individual login credentials to access purchased content.
Platform access remains available during the active 12 month license term. Access may be revoked if the licensed program or an authorized user violates these Terms of Service.
Child of the Redwoods may change the platform through which materials are delivered without affecting the underlying license term.
Technical Issues
If the purchaser experiences a technical issue that prevents initial access to the purchased materials, the issue should be reported to Child of the Redwoods within 7 days of purchase.
Child of the Redwoods will make reasonable efforts to resolve legitimate access problems.
Temporary technical interruptions, platform maintenance, or changes to the organization of online materials do not extend the license term or create a right to a refund.
Intellectual Property
All Child of the Redwoods curriculum materials, including but not limited to lessons, Teaching Guides, Theme Packs, Planning Cards, Scope and Sequence materials, printables, videos, audio recordings, images, graphics, worksheets, course materials, website content, and downloadable resources, are protected by applicable intellectual property and copyright laws.

All ownership rights remain with Child of the Redwoods, LLC and its owners or applicable licensors.
Unauthorized sharing, copying, distribution, reproduction, sale, publication, or use of protected materials may result in immediate termination of access without refund and may constitute copyright infringement.
Payment
Small Group Licenses are purchased for a 12 month term and are paid in full at the time of enrollment.
Installment or monthly payment plans are not currently offered.
The Small Group License does not automatically renew unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
Child of the Redwoods may contact the purchaser before the expiration date with information about renewing the license for another year.
Renewal is subject to the pricing, license tiers, included resources, and Terms of Service in effect at the time of renewal.
Refund Policy
All Small Group License sales are final.
Refunds are not provided for:
Failure to use the curriculum
Failure to schedule or attend the kickoff session
Changes in staffing or student enrollment
Closure or reorganization of the licensed program
Failure to use all available educator accounts
Failure to access or download particular materials during the active license term
A decision not to continue using Child of the Redwoods

License Termination
Child of the Redwoods may suspend or terminate a Small Group License if the licensed organization or an authorized user:
Shares login credentials with unauthorized users
Distributes protected curriculum materials outside the licensed program
Uses the curriculum with more students than permitted by the purchased license
Resells or sublicenses Child of the Redwoods materials
Violates applicable intellectual property rights
Materially violates these Terms of Service
