You wake up, get ready for the day, and know exactly what to teach.
Inside Child of the Redwoods, you’ll begin with a complete set of engaging, hands-on lessons already laid out for you.
Your lessons are easy to access.
Open your monthly Theme Pack, watch the Welcome Video, print what you need, and begin.
Everything is fully prepared and planned for you.
Every Theme Pack in our entire Theme Library includes weekly Planning Cards, printable materials, a curated book list, family activities, and a tutorial where Aubrey and David walk you through the entire month before you start.
Just Print, Cut, and Start Teaching.
The themes give your days a natural rhythm and a shared focus, while weaving together reading, writing, math, science, and more in a way that feels connected and beautiful.
Inside our Theme Library there are more than 60 interdisciplinary deep dives and cultural studies, so you can pick one that matches your child’s current interest.
Because every lesson is designed for a wide age range, you can easily adapt them for your child or teach multiple children at the same time.

Build Your Child’s Foundation
Your child learns through a complete, connected curriculum.
As you get comfortable, you’ll begin building your child’s foundation over time, subject by subject.
Your themed lessons give you a consistent monthly rhythm and a clear focus for what you’re exploring together. This is your starting place. But when you’re ready, you’ll add in the foundational lessons using our Leveled Montessori Teaching Guides to ensure your child is building skills in reading, writing, math, science, and more, without skipping over anything important.
You don’t have to figure out what to teach next or worry about gaps.
It’s already mapped out for you.
Inside Child of the Redwoods, your child’s learning is organized into six developmental levels that follow readiness rather than age.
Each Teaching Guide shows the complete progression across all ten Montessori subject areas while helping you identify which materials are essential, optional, DIY friendly, or unnecessary.
Using the Lesson Explorer, our searchable library of more than 3,000 lessons, you can search by topic, subject, skill, or Montessori material. If your child suddenly becomes fascinated by butterflies or volcanoes, you can quickly find connected lessons while staying on track with your Teaching Guides.
There’s no need to rush ahead or try to do everything at once.
The curriculum leveled lessons and your themes work together to support steady, meaningful progress.
Track Progress and Keep Going
You’ll follow your child every step of the way.
As you move through the curriculum, you’ll begin to see just how much your child is learning.
You won’t have to keep everything in your head or wonder if you’re covering what your child needs.
Some families prefer tracking lessons on paper, while others use the Child of the Redwoods app.
Either way, your Lesson Planning and Tracking Tools work together so you can see what you’ve presented, where your child is in the curriculum, and what might come next.
But I want to be really clear about something.
Montessori is not a checklist.
Your child does not need to master every concept before you’re allowed to move forward. You don’t need to complete a certain number of lessons every day. And you definitely don’t need to divide your life into perfectly organized blocks for reading, math, science, outside time, connection time, family time, and everything else you’re somehow supposed to fit into a Tuesday.
The planning tools give you structure.
The Montessori method teaches you how to use that structure with flexibility.
That’s why your membership also includes the Foundations of Montessori courses, where you’ll learn how to observe your child, recognize readiness, revisit concepts, follow interests, and understand the deeper principles behind the lessons you’re giving.
And sometimes, finding that balance starts much, much smaller than you think.
“One Lesson a Day Was the Momentum I Needed.”
Recently, Child of the Redwoods member K. shared something in our community that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about.
She’s a planner. Structure, planning, and analyzing had served her beautifully in her career. But when she tried to bring that same level of organization into motherhood and homeschooling, she found herself creating a separate time block for everything.
Prep work. Lessons. Connection. Outside time. Social time. Family time.
And suddenly there didn’t seem to be enough time for any of it.
As she explained:
“I didn’t do many lessons because it was almost paralysis of analysis because I didn’t have the library books, or the set up how I wanted, or prepping things upon her waking.”
Oh my goodness, this. We’ve seen this with so many homeschooling families.
You care so much about giving your child a beautiful education that you prepare and plan and research until somehow...it becomes harder to actually begin.
So K. tried something different.
Something very small.
“I actually did decide to just do one lesson a day and that was the momentum I needed.”
One lesson.
Not every subject.
Ditching the idea of a perfect schedule.
Letting go of everything that she had over scheduled.
Over time, something significantly different in their family rhythm began to emerge.
“Surprisingly, as our rhythm has evolved, the lesson has become a point of connection for us. We both look forward to spending time together learning.”
Their days began to breathe.
After the lesson, K. might work on something of her own while her child joined her or chose something else to do. If the weather was beautiful, they went outside. If something needed to get done around the house, it became part of the day.
There was still structure.
There was still planning.
But there was room for actual life, too.
And I especially love what she said about the things that don’t get done:
“I prioritize things that need to get done within a week and I don’t feel like a failure if I didn’t touch on something (lesson or other things being juggled) because we have a full week to move things around and accommodate living and learning in the moment all while balancing the rest.”
This is what finding your homeschool rhythm can look like.
The goal isn't to become a person who perfectly executes a Montessori curriculum.
It's to have enough structure that you know where you're going, while developing enough confidence in the Montessori method to respond to the child standing in front of you.
Maybe you start with one lesson, and maybe tomorrow you do another.
You observe. You learn. You adjust. You plan more intentionally.
And gradually, this enormous thing called homeschooling starts to feel pretty wonderful.
Education becomes a journey you’re taking with your child, and the learning opportunities happen every day.
